Recipe for Eckert Estate Family Cake

Eckert Estate Family Cake (Bolo Familia)
2 cups water
2 Tbl milk
4 cups raisins
Bring to a slight boil, then drain.
4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 teas. baking powder
2 teas. Baking soda
1 Tbl. Nutmeg
1 ½ Tbl. Cinnamon
***2 cups Eckert Estate Red Wine - We've used Zinfandel, Petite Sirah or the Dessert wines - all add different flavors and taste great!
½ lb butter, melted
1 teas. Lemon rind
1 teas. Vanilla
Beat eggs, with sugar and melted butter.
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and cinnamon gradually into sugar mixture.
Add lemon rind, wine and vanilla. Stir in raisins and walnuts.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, test for doneness. Makes 2 loaves
